Single-Family Zone Preservationists rely on a non sequitur argument against Seattle’s pending upzones…
For those who are concerned about growth, anxious about housing affordability, and upset about gentrification, you do understand that those problems are happening right now within the context of our existing, rigid zoning code and weren’t somehow caused by the proposed zoning changes that aren’t even in place, right?
In fact, the proposed changes to our outdated code are intended to add the flexibility we need to deal with growth and promote affordability.
Just wanted to clear that up in case you thought the status quo was working.
